Every year there are approximately 1,000 road traffic fatalities involving individuals driving for work. Most businesses have staff that are required to drive for work, which makes this amongst the most common risk in workplace health and safety.  

Driving for work is often regarded as a risk related to transport companies only, however any person who drives to attend meetings, picks up work supplies or uses their own vehicle or a work vehicle for business purposes is driving for work.

Vehicle movements within the workplace, being vans, cars, lorries, FLT’s and other plant are responsible for approximately 5,000 incidents in the workplace.  Of these 5,000 incidents approximately 50 people are fatally wounded.
