Display Screen Equipment

The Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992 are often overlooked but musculoskeletal disorders remain one of the leading causes of workplace absences.

As workstations are not ‘one size fits all’ users of display screen equipment should be assessed on the suitability of their workstation and environment for them as an individual. Display screen equipment includes all devices and equipment that have an alphanumeric or graphic display such as mobile phones, laptops, machinery and touch screens.

The use of self-assessment forms can help to highlight any potential issues before they lead to absences. If required, we are able to perform a detailed workstation posture assessment providing training, advice and guidance on altering the workstation for the individual along with sourcing suitable equipment.
