Waste Recycling

Recycling and Food Waste legislation changes are coming into force with effect from 31st March 2025. Businesses with 10 or more full-time employees must separate dry recycling and food waste for collection by a licensed waste carrier.

Businesses will be required to separate the following materials for recycling;

  • Glass such as drink bottles and rinsed empty food jars

  • Metal such as drinks cans and food tins, empty aerosols, foil food trays and tubes

  • Plastic such as rinsed empty food containers and bottles

  • Paper such as old newspapers and envelopes

  • Cardboard such as delivery boxes and packaging

  • Food leftovers or waste generated by food preparation

Whilst not currently in force it would be a good idea to start looking into your current waste arrangements and what changes need to be made to comply.
