Waste Recycling
Recycling and Food Waste legislation changes are coming into force with effect from 31st March 2025. Businesses with 10 or more full-time employees must separate dry recycling and food waste for collection by a licensed waste carrier.
Businesses will be required to separate the following materials for recycling;
Glass such as drink bottles and rinsed empty food jars
Metal such as drinks cans and food tins, empty aerosols, foil food trays and tubes
Plastic such as rinsed empty food containers and bottles
Paper such as old newspapers and envelopes
Cardboard such as delivery boxes and packaging
Food leftovers or waste generated by food preparation
Whilst not currently in force it would be a good idea to start looking into your current waste arrangements and what changes need to be made to comply.
