Does my workplace need an AED?

Survival chances following cardiac arrest decrease by 10% for every minute that goes by without CPR or a defibrillator being used. Not having a working defibrillator on site could delay the response to cardiac emergencies which increases the risk of fatalities. With average emergency response times to cardiac arrest now standing at 11 minutes in an urban area, many workplaces are choosing to invest in an AED to safeguard their staff.

Whilst no workplace is required to have an AED, it is something that should be considered within the first aid needs assessment, and it is something that we would certainly recommend.
