Fire Safety in Peterborough
You’re responsible for fire safety in Peterborough based business or other non-domestic premises if you’re:
an employer
the owner
the landlord
an occupier
anyone else with control of the premises, for example, a facilities manager, building manager, managing agent or risk assessor
You’re known as the ‘responsible person’. If there’s more than one responsible person, you have to work together to meet your responsibilities.
The Fire Safety Order also applies if you have paying guests, for example, if you run a bed and breakfast, guesthouse or let a self-catering property.
Level 2 Award in Fire Safety

This course has been designed for anyone designated as fire warden/fire marshal in the workplace. Covering all that is taught in half-day Fire Safety Awareness, this course also includes the identification and control of fire hazards such as means of escape and fire prevention. The stages involved in a fire risk assessment are also included and the undertaking of a fire safety inspection and fire extinguisher identification and use among others.

This course is an ideal way to ensure that all employees have a good understanding of fire safety, whilst minimising disruption to the working day.
Covered in this course are the causes of fires in the workplace, and the potential costs of fires in the workplace for employers, employees and society. Basic fire safety duties and responsibilities, actions to be taken in the event of a fire, principles of fire risk control, safe use of portable firefighting equipment and fire safety equipment checks.
